TweetGlide is Here!

Hello Fellow Profit Masters… Randy here..

If you haven’t been awake for the last 24 hours you probably know that there’s a new Twitter App on the net. It’s TweetGlide and it’s going to take over Twitterdom.

So what’s so great about TweetGlide? Well for starters you can tweet over the 140 word limit. TweetGlide allows you to create messages much longer than 140 characters – in fact, as long as you would like. Once you hit the "submit" button, here’s what happens…randybandBW

TweetGlide will post the first 80 (or so) characters to Twitter, followed by a short message: [To read the rest of this post click here: http://example.com/AdnG

When the link is clicked they can read the rest of your post on the TweetGlide Blog! Now this becomes another avenue for posting your content, and be able to share it with your Twitter Followers without having to post multiple tweets on Twitter! Your blog is also customizable and only contains YOUR tweets!

In TweetGlide you create what they call “Glides”. These are columns you can turn on or off where you will see posts from all of your "friends" or followers. There is a glide for “Sponsored Tweets”, @Mentions (where you can see who mentions you or your tweets), and there’s one for “Direct Messages”. You can figure that one out.

There are more great features in the “Profile Area”. TweetGlide has great flexibility with some advanced features in your Profile area. You can see all of your followers, bulk follow them or bulk unfollow and block other users, select how often your Glides update, enter your Facebook information, and etc.

It even includes a URL shortener with multiple services available. So you can track your tweets and clicks.

I haven’t even touched the income producing component of TweetGlide yet. You can “Tweet for Traffic”, build a powerful downline matrix, and even advertise your products and services in their ad network. Since the ads run right inside the application, users have the option to view or shut off the ads. This ensures 100% spam free advertising.

There is so much more than I’ve been able to discover at this point in time. Get on over to TweetGlide and take a look for yourself. If you use Twitter to generate income then this is the App you need.

Video Marketing with LinkedTube™

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009
Hello Fellow Profit Masters… Randy here…

Here’s a great way to get out your message. This video ad was created using LinkedTube™. LinkedTube™ allows you to easily use the power of YouTube™ to get your message out.

In this case I “borrowed” a great video from DJ Steve Porter. If you want to create your own video presentations, that works too. All you have to do is upload it to YouTube™ and pull it into LinkedTube™!

Create video product listings, advertisements and more… link to anywhere including PayPal, Skype or even the iTunes store. The link is in the button. Hover your cursor over mine and you’ll see more information available to you. You can put anything you want there.
It’s a great tool!!

LinkedTube

LinkedTube™ is a Flash widget that adds link and sharing options to YouTube videos. With this you can transform any YouTube video into a useful viral promotion tool. Unlike standard YouTube players it links directly back to your URL, for example you can create video product listings linking direct to your shopping cart, music video links to the iTunes store or just link back to your website or blog. Plus, when others share your video they all link back to your own URL.

When you’re done filling out the form on their website to create your links, just click the up arrow in the lower right corner of the video frame to get your Flash widget or the link to the video on LinkedTube’s website. Try it by clicking on the up arrow above and you’ll see my info. Your URL is attached to the button in the upper right corner. Hover over it to see more info you can put in the form. If you click it, you’ll get taken to the URL you put in the form. Click my button and see where it takes you.

I think you’ll love this approach to marketing your wares, and best of all, IT’S FREE!!!

Don’t worry, it’s truly a free service with no strings attached and no OTO’s.

Santa Got Run Over By A Reindeer

or Santa Gets Side Swiped By a Reindeer

This is a reprint from one of my other blogs. I don’t know why I had to reprint it. It doesn’t have a thing to do with internet marketing. I suppose that I just needed to share it with more readers. As one who appreciates the impact of diminishing habitat, I feel sad that the wild critters are being pushed out of their homes.

This happened about a year ago…….

It’s a little known fact that I am a Santa Helper during the Festive Season of Christmas. I have my own web site, Santa Claus ATL.com and everything. I even have my own Plaxo Group, the The Southern Society of Santa.

Okay, enough horn tooting. You’d think that an upstanding Santa like me would get a little respect from the deer population. I’ve been driving car and sleigh for nigh on 52 years now and I’ve never had a run in with a deer. Well, last Sunday night that changed! I was tooling down my local country highway. I’d been to the local Wal-Mart for one reason or another. It was about 10pm give or take a few minutes. All of a sudden and out of nowhere something from the road disintegrates my side mirror and makes that horrible sick noise that comes from a car hitting something animal. YUKK!

So, being the good citizen that I am, I call 911 and report the incident. Shortly a very nice Sheriff’s Lieutenant rolls up and surveys the situation. He says that I’ve been in contact with one of our local deer trying to cross the road. No blood, just hair and dents on the car. My side mirror was smashed into the driver’s window and that left a star pattern in the glass. I’m thanking the heavens that the animal didn’t decide to meet me head on. That would have totaled my little gray Scion.

Santa-logo_sk Now it seems that deer accidents are becoming fairly common, according to the Sheriff. I do know that it’s hunting season here. If I was a deer I know that I’d be a little spooky. There’s also a lot of new construction in areas that were rural and wooded. It seems to me that most, if not all, of the construction is non-residential. Every one wants to put their business on the main road. Understandable, but what’s going to happen to the fauna that habituate those areas. That’s their living ground. The place where they eat, sleep, and procreate.

So it seems that unless we do something to control commercial/residential growth, were going to be killing or maiming more of the game on the roads. Which costs us a bundle in damages. Insurance or not, we’re going to pay out of pocket one way or another; in more ways than one.

Thanks for the read.. Still trying to figure out why I needed to reprint this article.

How Money is Made by Blogging 2

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

Hellohg329x84gif Fellow Profit Masters… Randy here… Now this is the second installment of this series, How Money is Made by Blogging, and after some thought I’ve decided to be as fair as possible when it comes to web hosting services.

Now I use 1&1 Hosting. They’re a great solution and they fit my needs. Your needs may differ. Therefore I thought that I would put up an alternative. Hostgator is a Texas company that provides relatively inexpensive hosting and domain name registration. It’s a very popular solution. It uses cPanel for administration. It’s pricing is competitive.

Please remember the point I tried to make in the last post. Making any money on the internet requires branding. Especially if you intend to use a blog to generate income. Your brand should be unique to you. So should your domain name.randybandBW

Once you’ve found and address and space on the web, you need to think about content and a vehicle to deliver that content. Since this is a post about making money blogging the next thing to touch on is putting up your blog.

Blog installation and management, especially with Wordpress, is not difficult. In fact it can be darned easy. You don’t need to be some kind of internet nerd to run a blog with Wordpress. Just follow their comprehensive instructions. There are plenty of Wordpress plugins that you can use to manage and monetize your blog. Do your research. See which ones fit you the best.

You do need to host your blog yourself. That’s why I’m spending so much time talking about hosting upfront. Remember that branding is one of the Big 5 steps to successful marketing on the internet.

Once you have established your brand then you can take steps to put it out in front of the buying community.

Have a GREAT DAY!

Randy

How Money is Made by Blogging

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Hello Fellow Profit Masters… Randy here… This is an initial posting of a series so stay tuned.

I’m going to do a little blatant advertising here. Please excuse me. It’s just that the best way to operate a blog for profit is by hosting it in your own web space. I know, there are lots of places that will “host” your blog for you. But… You have to use their domain name!

On the cheap side this may not seem like a bad idea. But from a branding prospective it sucks. If you want to be known for your content you need a place to display it that’s all YOUR own! This is the first step in Blogging 101. Get your own domain name!

Now I use 1&1 for my hosting needs. You see their banner below.1n1234x60_01 They do just about any kind of hosting there is. Here are some reasons to try 1&1.

  1. Best prices!
With 1&1‘s all inclusive pricing, you always know exactly what you are going to pay, and you will always find the best price. They don‘t waste money on high overhead costs or on tasteless commercials.
  2. No catch!
They treat you fairly: The price they advertise is the price you pay for a domain registration. There are no setup fees or additional costs- ever.
  3. Maximum flexibility!
Use your 1&1 domain with a 1&1 web hosting plan or use it with a different web host. You can use your domain to set up an e-mail account for your website, or you can reserve your domain now and get started on the web later, when you‘re ready. It’s up to you.
  4. FREE Private Domain Registration
Protect your contact information from spammers! Your privacy is important. That’s why, unlike other domain companies, they offer Private Domain Registration free of charge.
  5. No transfer fees! Already have a domain? 1&1 does not charge transfer costs, and you can save immediately with the industry’s best prices. If you want to save more, upgrade your domain to a web hosting plan and take advantage of their great prices.

I’ve had nothing but great service from 1&1. On the odd occasion that I thought I had a problem, I contacted their Support Staff and they gave me immediate information that remediated my perceived problem. They’re GREAT!

The bottom line in Blogging for Profit is to have total control over your brand. That means getting your own domain name and web space. Even if you’ve never played with site building before, you’ll find that with your own internet real estate, WordPress, and a decent blog theme you can generate income. How much depends on your marketing efforts. At least this is a place to start.

Later….. Randy randybandBW

Yep… I’m A Proud Grandpa!

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Hello Fellow Profit Masters… Randy here..

Indulge me if I get a tad off topic today. My grandson, Cooper, made the cover of a local magazine called the Athens-Oconee Parent. Now for those of you who are not Georgia Bulldogs, this is a magazine published in Athens, GA., the home of the University of Georgia.

Cooper’s mom, Ashley, teaches there in the School of Public Health. My youngest son David, Cooper’s dad, is working on his Ph.D at UGA as well as teaching in the Athens-Clark County school system.

Now all that was background for the picture below. Cooper’s image was chosen for the Sep-Oct 2009 cover of the magazine. Being a very proud grandfather, I’m sharing it with all of you. Excuse the egocentricity of this. But proud is proud no matter what. So here’s the cover!

Cooper on the Cover

Ain’t he just the cutest little rascal. His brother Zachary is just as cute. So, even though this doesn’t have anything to do with our normal subject, I’m sharing it anyway. ‘Cause I’m his very proud granddad.
